The session of placement has started in IITs (Indian Institute of Technology). Many IIT centers have reported regarding placement record which has reached 50 to 60% within the first week only. There has been a hike of around thirty percent in placement record since last year.
According to Debasis Deb, chairman of career development center (IIT Kharagpur), last year placement record was not good enough. Last year placement was only sixty-six percent. This year, it has reached back to seventy-five percent.
Boom in Placement of IT Sectors
IIT Kharagpur is leading the placement record with more than nine hundred offers got in the first week only. IIT Madras and Roorkee have also received around 650 to 700 offers during this period. In IIT BHU, around fifty percent of students got placed. There have been seen a boom in the placement of IT sectors from the last year. IIT Kanpur has faced placement of 58 students in the Intel.
Government Policies Changes Affect Placement Trends
Placement head of IIT Roorkee, NP Padhy said that there has been seen growth in core and IT fields. Bulk recruiters are now very conscious about their recruitment process. When they get good candidates with rich internship experience abroad and having a good resume, they are bound to hire those.
Placement dean of IIT Guwahati, Kaustubh Mohanty said that placement trend simply results in a change in government policies. The first phase of placement will be done till the December. Rest will be done in January and will continue till March-April after a short period of time.
